The city of Ituzaingó is located on the left margin of the Parana River, to 72 meters on the level of the sea, in the northwest of the province of Currents, to the height of kilometer 1256 of the Route Nacional 12, to 230 kilometers of the capital of the capital province and to 90 kilometers of Inns of the neighboring province of Missions.

Its Name has been imposed in tribute to the battle homónima freed the 20 of February of 1827 in field of the Eastern Band, closely together of the Ituzaingó River, in which General Carlos Maria de Alvear, to the Argentine and Uruguayan control of troops won to the Brazilians of Marques of Barcelona |

approximately 19,000 inhabitants is the capital of the department
homónimo, that by its extension is located in the third place as far as
surface occupying 10% of territories of the province. |

Its geography is occupied in a 20% by the lagoons and matting of the
Iberá, near 76% corresponds to fields destined to the cattle ranch,
earth cultivables and forestación and 4% rest occupy the urban areas,
houses and ways.
