We visited Itá Ibaté two accompanying journalists on Fisheries of the United States, contacted us to do some fishing surveys in the north of Argentina. The idea was surubí fish and gold, which in this sector of the Paraná River are usually large. We stayed in Cabanas Puerto Paraíso, and do it with their fishing surubí.

Not much is known about this species in terms of their biology. In fact, it has not been studied their fishing seriously. Just to clarify that the technique is more practical for the capture trolling for current or "downstream", where most of the copies are attached to various body parts. There are a wide range of theories about what happens when operated in this manner. Some argue that the fish is agitated to perceive the vibrations of the lure as it approaches and that their senses are not sufficiently developed to intercept your mouth, then left in the way of artificial and is nailed by the body. We found the river with an almost normal level under the meters. Usually this has a negative impact in these areas by at least a couple of days. It seems the fish are lethargic with the sudden change of altitude, then start to eat normally when you are acclimatised to the new conditions.

Acting trolling the athletic rocks near Punta Gallino, we decided to concentrate efforts on the capture of some major gold. This field is different from other more southern latitudes. Not so deep (8 to 14 meters) as the stones found near the veril up from Yahapé Paso de la Patria. This is more of a platform submerged sprayed with medium stones and mostly flat. Basalt may have been exposed to erosion by water for longer than other stones and it has the polished surface. Clarify that these conclusions are based only on the behavior of the trolling lures.

We conclude that these fish actually attack the decoys, and that is only possible to catch them trolling against the current, much more exciting and also adding the possibility of a strike gold.
