We visited “Lago Cholila Lodge”
Cordilleranos services of first level, landscapes and good fishing
The scope
In the northern sector, the streams Tiger,
Third or White one, Segundo or Villegas and First or Percey descend from summits
of hills Two Tips, Premolar, Single Tip and Three Tips. They contribute their
waters to the Cholila lake, whose form extended in direction west-this sandal an
approximated surface of 17 km2. By its North margin, this lake receives waters
of the stream of the Turk, who forms an ample alluvial fan in his opening. When
coming out of this lake, the Stony stream comes together by left margin and the
emissary, the Carrileufú river, follows his course towards the Southeastern.

Southeastern course until reaching the valley of Cholila, from where it slips in

emissary of the Lezama lake. Towards the east, several courses descend from the
Leleque cord towards the valley of the Drawer, waters above of the locality of
Cholila. One is a fluvioglacial valley in where the stream slips the low Otters
that receive the excesses of a group of lagoons and between that the lagoon
stands out the Otters. This stream drains in the lagoon Mosquitos (L.
Pellegrini) of 461 has of surface, whose emissary is the stream homónimo. This
stream receives the contribution of courses that come from the Mallín Delgado
and the Mallín of Leon. Waters down the confluence with the White stream and
immediately with the Carrileufú river takes place . With southwestern course,
the valley of Carrileufú reaches the northeastern lobe of the Rivadavia lake.
The Lodge
En Cholila we had opportunity
to spend a day and means in one of those isolated places: in a new and very
pretty called complex “Lago Cholila Lodge”, that has capacity to lodge to 15
people in a warm atmosphere with sober decoration and a very careful service.
The rooms are beautiful, really comfortable and the spaces in the ground floor
are amplest, counting in addition on enormous large windows from where the
surroundings of forests can be appreciated , mountains and until a runway where
they arrive the guests who decide to do it by that means. And all this to about
one hundred meters of the lake. Ideal.

Lago Cholila
Pretty like few
To stay in any city or town of our south always is comfortable and comfortable
then one until can be walking to the center, make purchases, go to the casino or
simply to seat in the table of a coffee; everything is by hand.
But one “feels” but in the Patagonia when it has the opportunity to lodge in a
separated place, like when it makes a camping in the middle of the forest or its
pocket allows him to accede to some cabin or moved away complex of all
characteristic of civilization, and if it is possible next to a river or lake.
Afternoon in which we arrived, Mauricio and Julieta - their
woman gave a warm welcome us and they assigned the rooms to us. Mauricio is the
administrator and to the time chef of lodge. The idea was to experience and to
write this note on the experience of a day of fishing in the lake and provided
with accomodations in a so particular place.
Afternoon it fell, and the time it happened flying while we
talked next to the home seeing to burn the logs, and drinking some whiskey or
beer accompanied by aperitives, saladitos and tentempiés that very generously
invited Mauricio or Julieta to us. Really a pleasure.
The supper, that offered us was worthy of the school of Mauricio, who commented
to us that at some time of his race she acted as in one of the most famous
hotels of Retirement in Federal Capital.
A likeable Eastern marriage with which a pair of hours -
she of Chinese origin talked before on fishing and Japanese he and who were
fishing by third year in our country, occupied the table of alongside.
The morning arrived calm. Daniel and Rene arranged
themselves to still prepare the boat next to a small stone wharf in
construction. One was a semi-rigid one of medium size, very surely in all type

with cover that occupied most of the stern. Very good to sail and to fish to

The main affluent of the Cholila lake is the Tigre river,
which is in the extreme west of the lake and comes from glaciers and empties
through pretty Carrileufu river that soon ends at Lago Rivadavia.
The Carrileufu as the Tiger is two of the last redoubts of salmons locked up in
our country.
Rene ignited outside hut and put prow to the west. Almost one hour took arriving
to us until the mouth of the Tigre river. As it were grown had at that moment a

chef, accompanied by a generous red wine, was the exact sample of the
preoccupation that Mauricio puts in his office, so that each guest of the Lodge
feels or still treated in an informal lunch of field. Of first.
While we were in that, something surprised to us since no
of the three we had never seen something thus. One was a bat, in broad daylight,
with a radiating sun and to less than ten meters, feeding itself in grazing
flights on the surface. Perhaps for an expert this is a known subject, but for
us, these flying mammals single moved at night. And it remained doing this
awhile before ours disturbed eyes. Soon it disappeared.
As the wind were accelerated more and more and already we had enough material to
publish, we decided to leave all limpito as it corresponds, we disarmed the
equipment and we undertook the return.
In every year of fishing in our south never navegué with so
high waves. In the narrowness of the lake I believe that they had at least two
meters. As this time we went tailwind, René was them riding with the semi-rigid
one and when she injured to the crest she accelerated a little to cause that the
boat drilled moving until arriving at the crest from the following one. Although
the best thing at the moment is to be in the coast taking you kill, the time
passed express and we arrived “sequitos” until the wharf. Little this happiness
lasted since cuado the boat arrived at the repairs the waves were so great that

night. On the following day we took leave of our hosts since we started off for
Bariloche, where we spent two days locked up without being able to leave to fish
by the strong storm of wind and rain that lasted two days followed. Ironically
when we left Bariloche from return to Buenos Aires the morning was precious… We
In Cholila had been better to have left.
When viajabamos of return we could see the fallen snow the
previous night that painted target mountains again, the cold followed us all the
places that we visited.
