A promising return
Lagoon of Go'mez - Junín - Buenos Aires

There by year 2001 there was in Junín an important hydric excess, some will remember that the water of the channels took the bridges of the Nac route. N°7, in that opportunity we published a note referred to the indiscriminate depredation of pejerreyes and the absolute lack of control of the then intendant Abel Miguel.

Depredation in Junín

As they can see in the photos, hundreds of people approached the channels “to strain” the water in search of pejerreyes of not more than 7/10 cm. in one of the photos can see the driver of the Intendant Miguel “observing” the massacre. Even though that were and are regulations of minimum stature and fitted of capture no municipal civil employee made nothing stop the estropicio, in a stock market fit more than 500 pececitos of 7 cm., had more than one hundred people continuously straining and this lasted three months or more 50,000 fish per day by 90 days = 4.500.000 pejerreyes (four million and means), we said then that that slaughter would imply the absolute lack of pejerreyes in the later years and we were not mistaken, during years 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 were no fishing, therefore there was no fishing tourism, and there were no income for the lenders, the intendant? well thanks, must continue living on the policy in some other position.

Now that I related the antecedents them step to tell that a reader of pescanet sent a mail to me saying me that he was being fished in the lagoon of Go'mez, so I called to my friend Claudius Meoni to see like was the thing, and the answer was favorable, it was fishing pejerrey of measurement and some surpluses of other years that were of important size but.
We decided to travel to Junín and to make the attempt, this was last Thursday 15 of June.

We arrived at the “Coastal Inn” about the nine and average, in spite of almost the four years of fishing inactivity this in excellent conditions, doubtlessly must have been hard times, of lack of work and income, but they put the chest to him and they managed to surpass the drink badly.
For those who do not know them comment that is a restaurant, park with quinchos tables and banks, channel of access, day-care center of boats, electrical windlass to lower boats, gasoline jet, sale of bait, boats and motors to rent, it tows, baths etc., a service of most complete.
In order to arrive from versus. Ace. the west is taken by access, route 7, and when arriving at Junín they pass the road one and to his left it leaves the access road to the bath, when they pass the entrance of the bath double to the right by an improved road (there is poster), and at the end of the way it is the Inn.
 

We entered the lagoon a boat that I lend Claudius to us with a 115 HP. we left by far care, since we are customary to the semi-rigid one, in addition the lagoon, as all those of this river basin it is with faltante of water, in this one case need about 30/40 cm. of level, we crossed the mirror until the opposed coast, there we turned to the right until an island and thence we began garetes since the wind moved away to us of the coast.
The day was pretty, a little cold and moderate wind of the south, we used lines of three buoys with trap of 20 cm. in the mother, without leader nor ballast buoys, incarnated with mojarra and after the first dientudo with some “sanguchitos” of mojarra and dientudo, we used tanza Asso Floating again, and he is really very useful for the pejerrey fishing.

Really our expectations were not to make a great fishing but to cross and to chusmear if really there were good population of fish, or of exit we had a good augury, many gulls followed the boat, this must to that the helix is killing fish and they are them eating, and if they followed to us is because or they are customary to this one type of feeding, and so that the helix kills fish must have an interesting amount of them in the mirror.

Good, we began to garetear from the island like going towards the bridge of Lincoln, would be ten and the average one in the morning, the wind was smooth and we needed to restrain the dead boat with neither drift anchor (that we forgot to take), to the few minutes or had resentments, to 15/20 cm. of depth, were pejerreyes of 22/27 cm. the resentment was frank and the firm taken one, very peleadores, or fed, did not make lack leave line moves away too much to it, or to 15/20 meters was resentment.

We decided not to reinitiate garete and to follow until the bottom to see if there were resentment in all the sectors or only in that one, and we continued having resentments, many we missed them because to so little depth the nailed one is quite difficult, passed the noon the wind was made hard but and we threw a short anchor to restrain a little the boat, it was already shaking to us enough and in addition it caused that the cold feels more.

The answers were not cut at any moment, so there are fish by all sides, only two or three of them passed the 30 cm. but many gave the prescribed measurement, are pejes of small mouth, clear back and formed well, neither lanky nor dumpy.

About the four we decided to return to the Inn, already the cold one was annoying and in addition the lack customary to very powerful motors caused that it sailed to average march and not gliding, in addition no longer I decide to me well the low zones and could take a disagreeable surprise to me.

As final commentary I can say that there is very good population to them of pejerrey, in general are chicuelos but I believe that in all the day the quota can be covered with pejerreyes of measurement, it is a fishing boat near versus Ace (260 km) and has all the services that the fisherman needs, in addition to few meters to the Inn there is a complex of cabins to lodg if they go more of a day, surely is a reality reingreso of the Lagoon of Go'mez to the outstanding destinies of pejerrey fishing, we hope that the civil employees have learned the lesson and this one time they take care of the resource with nails and teeth.
